UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE LEAGUE – ROUND OF 32 – SECOND LEG
Last week in Warsaw, Dutch giants Ajax were robbed by the lack of goal-line technology against Legia Warsaw when a perfectly good goal was not given and the game was tied 0-0. Legia head to the Amsterdam Arena for the match two (kick-off 6:00pm GMT) in what should be a big ask for the Polish side.
History shows that the Amsterdammers have kept a clean sheet in their last three clashes against Legia and are undefeated in their last ten Europa League games so it’s easy to see why Ajax are priced at 1.44 with Bet365. At full strength, Ajax could go far in this tournament and without any real first team casualties I see them sending Legia back to Warsaw tonight out of the Europa League.
Also at 6:00pm, Roma, currently 4-0 up from the first leg, host Villarreal in what should be another easy win for the Italians priced at a handsome 1.75 at Bet365.
Roma have been victorious in 11 out of the last 13 in all competitions, with only Sampdoria and Juventus handing The Yellow and Reds’ the two defeats. In reflection, Villarreal have won just four from 13 and drawing six and with the form not on their side, to make matters worse for the Spaniards, they’re visiting a team who have a perfect 100% record at home in Serie A this season.
In a shock result last week, a very poor Tottenham Hotspur were defeated by Belgian outfit AA Gent, who had dropped six first-teamers but still arrive at Wembley Stadium tonight (kick-off 8:05pm GMT) with a 1-0 advantage. Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to make amends and is reported to name a full strength side to give his side the best chance of progressing.
His spirits will have certainly be lifted by his side’s 3-0 FA Cup win at Fulham on Sunday afternoon where Spurs looked dominant and will aim to take control again this evening. Gent proved they had enough to turn over Tottenham last week, however this was their only win in their last four competitive fixtures. Spurs are obviously the favourites at 1.33 (Bet365) and they round out our treble.
If you decide to join us on this… good luck!
