UFC 199

The Forum, Inglewood, CA.

160603 - Dustin Poirier

(Lightweight Division)

Since losing heavily to Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier has gone 3-0 since moving up from the featherweight division and I see him going to four wins in this fight against Bobby Green. Poirier is a far advanced and quicker striker and I think if this one stays on his feet, he wins hands down. Green has a good chin and I doubt to see Poirier get an early finish unless he Green makes a mistake and he gets caught into a submission.

If Poirier can survive the first round, I believe he wins this fight. Green is good, but not great well-rounded fighter and what he lacks in raw talent, he makes up for in determination. He has been away from the Octagon since his November 2014 loss to Edson Barbosa and although this will be a competitive fight, I think Poirier will get the clear decision.

TIP: Poirier to win via decision (2.40 at Bet365)

 160603 - Hector Lombard

DAN HENDERSON (31-14) vs. HECTOR LOMBARD (34-5-1, 2NC)

(Middleweight Division)

This could spell the end to Dan Henderson’s UFC career. He used to be the best wrestler in the federation. He used to be able to take any punch. Now at 45 years old, he’s only saw victory in two of his last eight fights and is heading into this fight in the back of four straight defeats. His decline has been difficult to watch and this fight will end.

Hendo does own some decent punching power, but sadly for him, so does his opponent Hector Lombard. If Lombard lands any punch, you have to think that Henderson will go down. Both fighters have awful stamina and do not expect this to get out of the first round.

This fight reminds me of that old Disney movie so expect Lombard to take Old Yeller behind the woodshed and finish him off… and early. Lombard via first round knockout. This will be another tough fight to watch if you have any respect at all for Dan Henderson’s amazing career.

TIP: Hector Lombard to win by KO/TKO or Submission in Round 1 (2.05 at Bet365)
