The PDC World Cup of Darts kicks off in Frankfurt this evening so Darts tipster Craig Wilburn picks out two bets that give us the best chance of making a profit on Day One of the tournament.
Thursday 2nd June
PDC WORLD CUP OF DARTS – DAY ONE
Matches begin at 7.00pm BST shown live on Sky Sports 1.
The opening day of the World Cup of Darts begins with eight of the 16 first round matches. The format for the first round lends itself to potential upsets in a best of 9 legs double match.
The best match of the night is arguably the finale between hosts Germany (Max Hopp/Jyhan Artut) vs Australia (Simon Whitlock/Kyle Anderson). The sixth seeded Aussies are 4/7 favourites for the tie with the Germans priced up at 7/4. Germany progressed to the quarter finals in 2015 with some vociferous home support. A similar reception coupled with the form of World Youth champion Hopp could see the hosts edge out the new Australian pairing of Whitlock and debutant Anderson.
Other fancies from the opening nights action are the experienced American pairing of Darin Young and Larry Butler (8/15) to defeat the Philippines. Gibraltar showman Dyson Parody and his partner Manuel Vilerio (4/6) to turn over Norway.
TIP: Germany to beat Australia (2.63 at SkyBet)
TIP: USA (1.40) and Gibraltar (1.57) to win matches (2.20 Double at SkyBet)
